Wild Boar are back! While this is in principle a good thing, they can cause considerable damage, especially when numbers are too high. They are a significant agricultural pest, churning up pasture and crops, as well as ruining gardens, causing RTAs, and coming into conflict with dog walkers.
The Forest of Dean is one such hotspot, boar are having a serious impact. Due to their extraordinary birth rate, they can have several large litters a year, boar impact tends to get worse year on year unless they are managed proactively.
We treat boar management with the same commitment and professionalism as deer, the meat is a welcome bonus we share with the landowners we work with. Wild boar sausages being a real favourite!
